POP 2018

Knowing that I am the next OIC for the unit, I have mixed feelings. Happy because I have wanted that position. But as happy as I feel, I'm also very nervous and scared, as the unit is being handed over to me. Many questions Came across my mind. What if I cant lead the unit? What if I failed as an OIC? Especially when there will no longer be seniors helping and guiding us. But despite all that, I am determined to put on a strong and confident side of me and will try my very best to lead the unit to a greater height

Campcraft Competition 2018

This is the first time we participated in campcraft competition for most of us, we were separated from each other and was placed in different components. At first, we were clueless about campcraft (e.g. tent-pitching, flagstuff),   but after a few trainings, we knew what's our role and what we should do in order to contribute to our respective team and acheive our goal. And through the trainings for the competition, we also got closer to our juniors  and there's more communication between us. There will be some days when things don't go well, due to the weather or our performance, but we were always be encouraged by the officers, who kindly took their free time off to help us, and seniors who guide us along the way,  which we are very thankful for.

CCA Fair 2018

Although it is the second year being involved in CCA fair for majority of us, some of us were still apprehensive about approaching people and talking to them. But when  we stepped out of our comfort zone and managed to convince people to come to our booth, the amount of satisfaction is unexplainable. Although we got shot down by a lot of sec 1s and will feel discouraged sometimes, we still managed to persevere and attract people to our booth.

The cca fair was tiring but we managed to teach the sec 1s about what we  do in Npcc,we even took pictures together.I think all of us did a good job, as we managed to get alot of people to write down their names in the list.

Westwood Primary Outreach

The outreach at wwps was very meaningful as we went there to educate young minds on what are the basic activities that is mostly done at NPCC. It also helped the cadets (us) be more knowledgeable of our own CCA. Overall, the experience was very fruitful and fun as we got to interact with primary school students. It was the second year I volunteered for the same activity and nevertheless, it has still managed to bring a smile to my face! This activity had also brought us difficulties as we pondered on how to display our CCA rank boards, but our innovation solved the problems we faced and we were raring to go! The innocence of the faces of the young students studying at WWPS has indeed made me relieve my childhood. Also, together with my fellow squadmates Intia and Zafrin,  I managed to share awareness about the UG CCA and gave them their very own fingerprint bookmark as a souvenir! I became ever more closer to my squadmates, and believed in the little ones who would one day join our school, will join our CCA as well.

Annual Camp 2017

2K17
We can see that the seniors had put in lots of effort on thinking of ideas for our camp and we had a fun experience as for the 1st camp we had. We even made friends with the seniors.Even though on the second day we are unable to hike due to the weather, it is very interesting how we had a night walk and faced challanges to complete it,the camp was very memorable and we are looking forward to next camp.

2K16
For the NPCC Camp last year camp we got the opportunity to bond with our juniors and seniors and had fun with them. Through this camp, we had the chance to lead the group and stepped up more as a senior. The camp was enjoyable especially bubble Soccer even though there was last minute changes here and there for some activities. Other than that,we felt this camp was very well prepared and planned.

2K15
Even though planning for the camp was quite hectic, the camp turned out to be fun and there were lots of good feedbacks given by our cadets. We also faced some challenges during the camp such as time management. The cadets were pretty happy with all the activities, especially for bubble soccer and the night walk. Overall, the camp was a success.

OEV Hong Kong Trip 2017

I went on this trip with people i had never met in my entire life and also stay with them for 5 days in a different country. But through this experience, i have learnt many important life lessons that i can use in real life context. One example is that there are actually many different ways to achieve just one objective but we should always think of the consequences before executing it. This teaches us to be prepared at all times. I also learnt to have fun and be disciplined at the same time, to know how to step in as a leader whenever the higher ranking officers asked the cadets to carry out certain tasks and to be mindful of my words and actions.

Lastly and most importantly, i got exposed to see the different aspects of the Hong Kong police force by interacting with the JPC members (hong kong cadets) and also by going down to the 3 main units of the Hong Kong police force (traffic, marine and dog unit). It showed me how different and similar both Singapore and Hong Kong are in trying to obtain the same objective, which is to keep their country safe.

OEV HK has opened up my eyes to see a totally new perspective of being a leader and also a cadet of NPCC. I made alot of new friends, had an amazing time and lots of fun. I am truly grateful to have been given this oppurtunity and would definitely like to share this experience with my unit and hope my juniors can also be exposed to such trips to mould them into future leaders.

Halloween Event 2017

My reflection is that we where given different roles for each game to manage in leadership and make people happy when they leave the game which creates a good personality for us. This event was extremely fun and allowed me to bond with my seniors and juniors, it also gave me a opportunity to see the inner workings of planning a event.

First Aid Course 2017

At first, we did not know anything about the course, however through the course, we have learnt something, for example, hyper-ventilation, that happens commonly around us. We have learnt many techniques to overcome hyper-ventilation such as calming the victim down. We have also learned many injuries in-depth such as the different stages of scalding. We have also learnt how to tie bandages the correct way. These skills would be of great use in our daily life and we were glad that we learnt it.

Muster Parade 2017

2K15
As we got promoted to sergeant rank,we know we are holding up a big responsibility. We have to be the role models to our juniors in a way that they can look up to, by improving ourselves to be better seniors to be role models to others and making sure things go as planned through managing our time.
2K16
Before the parade, most of us were nervous as we felt like we would make a mistake during the parade and would not be able to promote. But in the end, All of us who took the test promoted and is determined to continue doing our best throughout our journey in NPCC, in order to promote to the rank that we want.

2K17
We learn that if we put in effort we can achieve the goal, we learn that no matter what we get, we have to appreciate and work together as a squad, we learn that we had worked together as a squad to went through the difficulties together to achive what we want, we also thought that we are  performing quite well in the muster parade as we tried our best to follow the instructions as  it was our first time doing the muster parade. Even if we had trouble following instructions, we are all elated that we finally received our ranks and badges that we have worked hard and sacrifice for.
